In a quickly changing technologically advanced society, there's no way to be involved in design without being involved with interactive components. I have experience working closely with in-house and out-of-house programmers and developers to create brand-centric, responsive websites that are not only attractive and easy to navigate, but also ADA compliant as well.
In 2017, Woodland Park Zoo hired an outside consultant to help us develop a responsive website that possessed easier navigation for our guests and an updated look and feels that represented the evolution of our brand. The budget was small and the timeline was short, and with less than a week's notices, I was tasked as the designer when before I was to simply consult. With a predominately print-based graphics team, it was my responsibility to now step up to the challenge of being a web designer. I taught myself Sketch, and with the help of our contract developer and in-house programmer, we designed a clean, easy-to-use, and attractive website that was responsive and ADA compliant.
